Video game is one thing that we cannot separate from our life. Nowadays, we can find so many sophisticated game consoles. With so many types of sophisticated game consoles, finding new and modern game console sometimes will not make us interested any longer. It will be very cool if we find old and classic game console, the ancestor of the modern game console. In 1972, the first game console was launched. It was the Magnavox Odyssey. This analog video game was also known as brown box. It used battery for the power source and only worked for Magnavox television.
In 1975, the popular Atari PONG was introduced to the society. Unlike the previous game console, Atari served more game and could be connected with any TV brand. On the launching year, this game console was sold over 150,000 units; the highest selling was definitely near Christmas day. In the same year, Odyssey served two more modern game consoles: the Magnavox Odyssey 100 and 200. The 200 version was the update of 100 version. This game console used six batteries. That time, both of the version was considered as advance game console, it was competing Atari PONG because both Odyssey served three to four game that could be played by multiple players.
In 1976, Atari launched Atari Super PONG to update the previous version. This game console was completed with four different versions of PONG games. Those are small examples of game consoles that become the root of today’s sophisticated game consoles.
